We went to lunch the other day and saw a sign that said there was a Corps of Engineers Recreation Area nearby. So, we set out to check out the campground and met a wonderful lady, Linda, at the Gatehouse to the campground. Just so happens she was on the phone with friends at the Corps of Engineers Campground in Somerville, Texas and learned that they need a couple to man the Gatehouse there starting May 1. She made a call to the Lake Manager and the next thing Evin and I know is that we are heading to Texas instead of New Hampshire to visit my older son and his family. You see, my younger son and his family just moved to Katy, Texas and the campground is about an hour away.
I guess by now you are wondering what this has to do with peacocks. Well, on the way to the campground I saw a sign that advertises a creek front lot with a dock is for sale. At some point we may buy a lot to park the RV on in the winter in Florida. Of all days, I did not bring my camera and all I had was my cell phone. As we rode down the dirt road we suddenly came upon a pride or ostentation of peacocks in full rut...
Same shot a little bit closer!!
What a beautiful setting!!
Looking down "Peacock Lane"!!
