PART 7: Our RV PATH of Dreams Changes

Today, the brick work all but got finished.

Johnny cut the engineered pieces of steel to go over the garage door and the screened porch.

At four o'clock it was quitting time for the week. 85% of the brick work is done. Just the front and back steps, over the garage and over the screened porch remains to be done.

PART 6: Our RV PATH of Dreams Changes

On May 25, 2016 I did PART One of the history of the building of our new home on High Rock Lake just outside Lexington, North Carolina located 9 miles off Interstate 85. I have taken thousands of photos to date. This post will have some of the early photos that I did not include in PART One.

I start with one of my favorite photos, Eddie and Evin looking toward the house site with Bumble smiling back at me. We did not know at the time that Eddie would leave us prematurely just a few days later. Eddie so loved the lake and going daily to check the progress on the building process. It was a  real adventure for him.

Gravel arrives for the driveway.

Clearing the 2 acres waterfront lot for driveway and house site was quite an undertaking!!

When Eddie got hot he went to the lake. On this day it was muddy from recent rains.

Once the lot was cleaned of trees it was time to dig and pour the footings.

Next after the footings came the foundation.

Then came the flooring system.

Soon they were framing.

The framing took place at a fast pace.

We did get some rain from time to time before the roof got put on.

After the framing is almost through we decide to add a 5th bedroom just in case all the adult children and children and spouses show up at one time.

Next came the roofing.

MORE TO COME.

GOING TO THE HOUSE TO TAKE MORE PHOTOS.
