LUNCH, KAYAKING & DINNER!!!!

As promised, I am showing the rest of our day, a spaghetti dinner, but just a little later in this post. First, the next day, lunch and kayaking. At the spaghetti dinner, Linda, Evin and I talked Doodlebug and our new friend, Dick, to go with us to Eagle Nest Lake for a picnic and a little kayaking. Had issues with the wind.

I am glad the state warned us.


The wind drives us back to Sierra Valley and dinner. First, the night before...

Those partaking, on the left, Joyce, Dick, Don, Paul and Alice. On the right, Frank, Linda, Janet and Evin. I was cooking and taking photos. Evin took Ken a plate to his office.


Spaghetti, three meat sauce, spinach with pine nuts & fresh garlic & sun dried tomatoes, salad and garlic bread. Everyone pitched in.


Alice made a great carrot cake!!!!

They talked me into fixing my favorite, "deviled hamburgers" the next night. Everyone pitched in again since we had a windy and exhausting day on the lake...

    Ahhh.....

    How well I remember that area as a kid. We grew up in the Oklahoma Panhandle and a number of our vacations/long holidays were spent in Red River, Eagle's Nest and Cimarron Canyon. Only, back in those days, one could camp in Cimarron Canyon itself and not at just the entrance/exit areas.

    Oh, and Jo and I enjoyed the visit in Oklahoma City, although I don't think you liked the weather.

      Have not had internet service at Riana Campground at Abiquiu Lake so it has taken me a little time to get your message. I will do a post about our visit with you when I have more time to go through my photos. We enjoyed our time with you two very much.

      We had a great time with Slade and Alicia also. Wish you could have been there with us.

      We are at Abiquiu Lake in New Mexico. I do not have internet or cell. Using Linda's computer to do this. Good to hear from you. Hope all is well.
