Oro Valley, Arizona

The PUPS, Evin and I have spent the past week in Oro Valley, Arizona at Catalina State Park about fifteen miles north of Tucson. By chance we learned of the state park as we were leaving Lost Dutchman State Park in Apache Junction.

As you will see, we have really enjoyed our time in this area. We enjoyed hiking in the park, we went to the top of Mount Lemmon with our friends Chuck and Gerry, and we enjoyed sunset at Saguaro National Park.

The Saguaro cactus was everywhere.

Near Catalina State Park is Biosphere 2, about twenty minutes north.

Also nearby is Twin Peaks.

We leave Catalina State Park and start on our way up to Mount Lemmon.

When we left Catalina State Park it was 70 degrees. Thirty minutes later as we headed toward Mount Lemmon we encountered 28 degrees and snow. We climbed from 2,620 feet in Oro Valley to over 8,000 feet elevation on the 9,157 foot high Mount Lemmon.

Coming down from Mount Lemmon and on to Saguaro National Park for sunset.
