Part Two of DOODLEBUG'S NEW RIDE!!!!

Just had to share a few more photos. Should have taken some of the great breakfast that Emily made us. But, I was too busy eating it. Anyway, here are a few photos of our morning in Pittsboro with Emily while Frank was at work taking care of the tire.

Wanted to buy this little guy. Only $200 ...

DOODLEBUG'S NEW RIDE!!!!

This week the PUPS, Evin and I started on a new PATH with the purchase of the truck, a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD, to pull our new home, a 2012 DRV Elite Suite. We will pick up the RV in a week or so from the factory in Howe, Indiana. But, that is getting ahead of the journey. Lets start with Doodlebug's new ride.

Doodlebug in her new ride!!!!

The PUPS, Evin and I set out for Cary Auto Park on Friday morning. We got there and had a great lunch with my good friend of thirty plus years, Frank Foushee. Frank just also happens to be a salesman at Hendrick Chevrolet in Cary, North Carolina where we bought the new ride. Everything was going well including buying our truck insurance from Dougherty Insurance in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We are changing our legal residence to South Dakota as we no longer own property in North Carolina. We will be RVing full-time and South Dakota is very friendly to RVers.

As I said, everything was going well and Frank was showing me all the features of the new truck when some other salesmen noticed a screw embedded in our driver's side front tire. I had not even driven the truck and we already had a "PROBLEM"!!!! The time was after 6 PM so we had no choice but to stay over night as we were 185 miles from the cabin. Frank came to the rescue, "Spend the night with Emily and me." So that is what we did. And with Frank and Emily's help, we "turned a lemon into lemonade!!!!" But first, let's see the truck in the detail booth before the screw was discovered.

Somewhere between here and the dealership is where the tire picked up the screw. The two photos below are before the screw in the tire.

Frank, Evin, Doodlebug, me and the new ride!!!!

This is where our "new baby" was delivered - Hendrick Chevrolet.

But there is more to this story ...

The PUPS and Evin on the PATH to Frank and Emily's beautiful home.

The new tire had to picked up and installed and would not be ready till around lunch time, so Emily suggested that we go to the Chatham County Farmers' Market and to some of the stores in greater downtown Pittsboro.

At the Farmers' Market there is also a co-op grocery store with a deli. We wished we had room to eat there; but, Emily had fixed us a great breakfast. The food was displayed in a very attractive manner and the flowers outside and at one of the booths were more than I could resist. But, you know me and flowers!!!! So, here a few photos of subjects that caught my interest.

So far, this is just a few of the photos. More later ...

In the "DAWG HOUSE" or the Pups on the Path to the Carolina Clan Rally!!!!

In April at the RV-Dreams Rally it was decided that those of us in North and South Carolina that could would meet at Cheraw State Park in September. Evin and I have ordered our new RV but it is being built. We needed to find a pet friendly place near the state park. We lucked out and found the perfect getaway:  The DAWG HOUSE!!!

We were less than 3 miles from Cheraw State and not much further from the quaint village of Cheraw:  An elegant Old Town with gorgeous antebellum homes, award winning Golf and a fence that plays "Salt Peanuts"!!!!

Cheraw is the birthplace of "Dizzy" Gillespie.

We'll go to the state park in the next post!!
