The first night, June 23, 2012, we boon docked in the overflow area. Even there we had a view of Cerro Pedernal.

Cerro Pedernal dominated the landscape!!!!
The name is Spanish for "flint hill". The mesa lies on the north flank of the Jemez Mountains, south of Abiquiu Lake. Its caprock was produced in the Jemez Volcanic Field.
