DESERT GLOBEMALLOW

The Desert Globemallow or Apricot Mallow is in bloom in Zion National Park. It is one of my favorite desert wildflowers. The plant was used by members of the Shoshoni tribe of Native Americans as a food source and as a medicinal plant. 

I just happened to spy a single stem of Globemallow directly across from the Claret-cup Hedgehop Cacti featured in the previous post. Although the wind was blowing, I was able to take a few photos between gusts...













Later we headed west of the campground and I saw more Desert Globemallow. I couldn't resist taking another shot or two...
