Because of the severe drought in this part of the country the lake level of Roosevelt Lake, which can be seen in the above photo, is currently only at 50% of its capacity.
The Roosevelt Lake Bridge was built before the dam for $21.3 million so the traffic on Arizona Highway 188 could be relocated. It is the longest two-land, single-span, steel-arch bridge in North America. The bridge, spanning 1,080 feet across Roosevelt Lake, was painted blue to blend in with the lake and sky, letting the form speak. The top of the bridge is 300 feet above the water. In 1995, it was named one of the top twelve bridges in the nation.

Our "Bus" is a little right of center on an almost straight line from the big cluster of yellow flowers as seen from Arizona Highway 188.
