My www.travelwithwhippets.blogspot.com friends, Dianne & Roger, have been full-time RVers for five years. I follow their blog for ideas of where to go and what to see. They are great bloggers, photo journalist and story tellers. I knew I was in for a treat when they rated San Antonio #2 on their favorites list that they recently shared with me. Here is just a preview of what my "camera eye" captured yesterday...
Stay tuned. Lots more to come. Leaving the RV now for a great Mexican food lunch...
I lived in San Antonio in 1961 - 1962 and loved it. I wanted to STAY!!
ReplyDeleteThe Riverwalk did not exist - it was an open river full of sewerage - you could not get to within 200 ft of it!!
We stayed a week in San Antonio in our RV and toured the Riverwalk on 4 different days, did the Mission Trail and the Japanese Tea Garden.

Haven't done the Japanese Tea Gardens. Walked a bunch of miles today. Staying at the Alamo KOA and take a bus into town each day for a $1.20 each way. Works out real nice. Lots of neat stuff to see and do.
DeleteGlad you are having a good time in San Antonio. It looks like you are enjoying it. There is a Mexican Market north of the Riverwalk (a long walk or a bus ride) that you might enjoy. I was there many years ago while attending a convention. Pretty sure it is near the old Governor's house.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Went there yesterday and ate at Mia Tierra. Got some good photos which I will post soon. Heading to Katy, TX tomorrow for grandson's AAU basketball games. On Monday heading to Quartzite to meet some RV-Dreamers in the desert and boon dock on BLM land.
